Stop the Shedding

by | May 12, 2018

Picture it: You’re in the shower, lathering up your shampoo, and as you pull your hands away, you’ve got strands sticking to them. Or, as you brush your hair in the morning, your brush comes away with a full head of hair of its own. Perhaps every time you hang up your jacket, you notice several strands of hair clinging to the shoulders. And while some hair falling out is pretty normal, it can become excessive. Are you ready to stop the shedding? We’ve got some tips for you here!

Relax

We know it’s easier said than done, but undue stress can really take a toll and lead to excessive hair loss. Take a step back and look at what might be causing you stress in your life and see what adjustments you can make.

Take a Look at your Haircare Routine

Water that is too scalding can irritate the scalp and lead to hair issues. Try washing with lukewarm water instead to promote healthy hair. Additionally, try not to leave hair for too long in styles causing tension and potential root ripping, such as ultra-tight ponies or braids.

Take a Look at your Haircare Products

For healthy, strong hair, look into using a sulfate-free shampoo to go easy on your hair – a strong clean without rough root damage. Never underestimate the power of a nourishing mask, either. Something like Jericho’sMud Haircare Maskprovides moisturizing health to help encourage a healthy scalp and strengthen the hair roots.

Critical Self Care

A healthy mind and a healthy body mean a healthy head of hair. With all the running around we do in our lives, it can be hard to make sure you’re taking care of yourself. A healthy, balanced diet full of essential nutrients such as Vitamins D and E, biotin, omega-3, fatty acids, and antioxidants (plus a healthy amount of vegetables) will help with that healthy hair. Also, getting enough sleep at night will help balance out your system and prevent premature hair loss.

While a little hair loss is nothing to freak out about if you want to cut down on the excessive shedding, rest a little easier knowing there is hope for a fuller mane.
